I love this Helen, I too have to press send quickly on any lines winged to me by the sensitive child who didn't feel they could express themselves. Now I own those words, they are mine. As I was sat here looking out the window into the garden, a single white feather floated ever so slowly past and seemed to suspend itself for a moment in midair, just to check I had noticed it. I had.
I could not love your response more. You have a delightful way with words and wonderful, insightful observation skills. Thank you for your wise words "I own those words, they are mine". That single white feather sounds like an acknowledgement of all you're doing. Such a gift.
Ah thank you Helen, I really appreciate that, it’s usually inspired by something I’ve read and an expression of an inner truth, so I’m blessed to have found your words here. 💫❤️
Wow, again. Love this. I too find delight in the way light scatters unexpectedly around my home. I also enjoy my cat's antics, and love finding him statue-still, basking in unexpected places. The small things can indeed be the life-giving things. My cat's name is Geronimo. I didn't name him, but was happy to discover his name means 'sacred'. Geronimo is also shouted to express exhilaration, especially when leaping from a great height. So, I think perhaps he gives me courage to make creative leaps.
Aww Phoebe, you are so generous with your reflections. Thank you! 😊 Geronimo sounds like a great character who clearly brings you lots of joy, alongside courage. Who would have thought that Geronimo meant sacred... how wonderful that he helps you make creative leaps to honour your sacred work 😍
I love this, and fell into the trap of thinking, because of the book reference, that it was going to be the literary Sherlock - what a lovely surprise!
It delights me that you fell into the trap, because the cheeky pixie part of me was aiming for that unexpected twist in the tail (pun intended!). Thank you for reading lovely soul, I appreciate your presence 😍
Aww Suzy, I love that you read it with him in mind, because honestly, I was being a tad cheeky and intentionally didn't want to give the game away that Sherlock was NOT Benedict Cumberbatch until the end! I met BC once in The Ivy at an event. Disappointingly he did not regale me with detective stories... perhaps he was undercover 🤔🥸
This is wonderful Helen. I love my suncatcher so could really see the image of yours shimmering. I also have the lovely Wild Hope - how beautiful glowing in the morning sun and what a gorgeous start to your day. This piece has a great element of fun with Sherlock too. Really made me smile! 😊
I love that you have the wonderful Wild Hope and that you pictured your suncatcher as you read, Katie. I hope the rainbows from your suncatcher bring you as much joy as your response brought me. Thank you for reading, and I'm so happy that this piece made you smile! 😊
Mary, your response was so funny that I burst out laughing. My sis loved it too! Sherlock would like to commend you for your attention to detail. However, after composing himself with a disgruntled cough, he felt compelled to point out that tuxedo kitties are THE best. Bless him 🐈⬛
Aww lovely Julie, thank you 😍 Your suncatcher gift brings delight every morning, even more so when the cats start chasing rainbows around the room! I love that I'm replying to you after listening to you. I am endlessly grateful for our friendship xx
As I read your line "a feather like a tiny angel wing" the bowl of white feathers beside me (gathered early one morning after watching a swan preen) transformed into a gathering of tiny angel wings!
What is poetry, if not the weaving of words to evoke meaning..... Thank you, poet Helen
Ha I love that! You're as curious as me 😁 Thank you for your lovely words of affirmation - I receive them with gratitude 🙏 I love that you felt my words danced on the page, because writing and editing this piece brought me such joy!

I love your photos too.

Oh I love this! But what’s quite funny is that until I came to the photos, I was honestly reading it with Benedict Cumberbatch in mind…all of it! 😂
What joy - Sherlock and Holmes. And a gorgeous sunset to boot! 🪄❣️

Whaaaaat? The Ivy? Benedict C? Now I knew you were a magical being Helen Grace MacGregor but now I’m wondering if it’s you who is undercover?! 😁🕵🏻

It is joyful to see that Sherlock wore his tuxedo to the party. Haha, tuxedo kitties are one of the best!

Haha, please let Sherlock know I stand corrected!
Oh, what magic you write, and I'm so very glad the suncatcher is bringing joyful moments. As you do for me, my lovely friend and fellow writer.
